MIL-STD-3010C, MILITARY STANDARD: TEST PROCEDURES FOR PACKAGING MATERIALS (01-AUG-2013)
MIL-STD-3010C, MILITARY STANDARD: TEST PROCEDURES FOR PACKAGING MATERIALS (01-AUG-2013)., This standard was developed to document uniform test methods for the evaluation of
materials and containers used in military packaging applications. Reference to the test methods
included herein ensures standardization of testing procedures and also eliminates unnecessary
repetition of detailed test instructions within each individual packaging specification or standard. The test methods included herein were previously documented in FED-STD-101. FED-STD-101A contained 250 test methods. This number was reduced to 172 in FED-STD-101B, then to 31 in FED-STD-101C, by deleting test methods no longer deemed
relevant or as a result of supersession by industry standards. The remaining 31 standard test
methods were then reviewed to verify need and extent of usage. That review indicated that only
15 unique test method standards are required to support the testing of packaging materials used
in military packaging applications. For MIL-STD-3010 revision C, it was determined that 12
standard test methods are required to support the testing of containers. These 12 test methods
have been incorporated to this Military Standard.
