MIL-STD-2161C, DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE STANDARD PRACTICE: PAINT SCHEMES AND EXTERIOR MARKINGS FOR US NAVY AND MARINE CORPS AIRCRAFT (07-FEB-2014)., This military standard establishes the requirements for paint schemes and markings to be applied to the exterior surfaces of U.S. Navy and Marine Corps aircraft, including those procured for other government agencies and foreign countries under Navy contracts. The requirements for paint schemes and markings include size, color, and approximate placement locations, where applicable, as shown in Appendices A – E.
