GENERAL DESCRIPTION INFORMATION AND CHARACTERISTIC DATA (20-MAY-2013)., This standard provides detailed information on the physical and electrical characteristics and logistical data on the DoD Standard Family of Mobile Electric Power Generating Sources.
The standard has been prepared for use by all Departments and Agencies of the DoD in selecting Mobile Electric Power Generating Sources (MEPGS) and ancillary equipment for applications requiring mobile sources of electric power and also to assist the Project Manager - Mobile Electric Power (PM-MEP) in effecting management and standardization of such sources of power within the DoD. The MEPGS listed herein are the only mobile power sources authorized for procurement. DoD components with mobile electric power requirements within the range of 0.5 kW through 1.1 megawatt, whose needs cannot be satisfied by one of the listed MEPGS, shall obtain deviation approval from the PM-MEP before taking any procurement action. Special instructions on the preparation and submittal of deviations are contained in AR 700-101, AFI 63-110(I), MCO 11310.8C, DLAR 4120.16 titled Joint Operating Procedures Management and Standardization of Mobile Electric Power Generating Sources.
