CCSDS 230.1-G-1, TC SYNCHRONIZATION AND CHANNEL CODING - SUMMARY OF CONCEPT AND RATIONALE, INFORMATIONAL REPORT (GREEN BOOK)
CCSDS 230.1-G-1, TC SYNCHRONIZATION AND CHANNEL CODING - SUMMARY OF CONCEPT AND RATIONALE, INFORMATIONAL REPORT (GREEN BOOK). The procedures and data formats developed for the TC Synchronization and Channel Coding
are designed for space communications links. Typically, the links are used to carry
telecommand data from ground elements to spacecraft, and the ‘TC’ in the name originates
from this use. However, the TC Synchronization and Channel Coding can also be applied to
links between spacecraft and to links carrying non-telecommand data.
The procedures and data formats of the TC Synchronization and Channel Coding are
designed with reliability and efficiency as primary considerations. The results reflect the
consensus of experts from many space agencies.
