A SED framework is essential for each engineering discipline to effectively scope, plan, staff, and execute engineering activities and to ensure that each discipline\'s contribution is timely, adequate, consistent, and compliant to support development, deployment, and sustainment of the SMC space portfolio of programs and systems. This SED framework describes necessary tasks and products, the policy from which they are derived, their relationship to the engineering, acquisition, and program management frameworks, and the engineering details one should consider in working towards effective and efficient integrated engineering. The importance of this document is not only to the government, but also to the providers (contractors).
