SMC-S-011 (2012), AFSC SPACE AND MISSILE SYSTEMS CENTER STANDARD: PARTS, MATERIALS, AND PROCESSES (PMP) CONTROL PROGRAM FOR LAUNCH VEHICLES (03-JUL-2012)
SMC-S-011 (2012), AFSC SPACE AND MISSILE SYSTEMS CENTER
STANDARD: PARTS, MATERIALS, AND PROCESSES (PMP) CONTROL PROGRAM FOR LAUNCH VEHICLES (03-JUL-2012)., This revised SMC standard comprises the text of The Aerospace Corporation report number TOR-1998(1412)-1, dated July 1, 2011 and entitled Parts, Materials, and Processes Control Program for Launch Vehicles, and contains major changes.
This document establishes the requirements for the preparation, implementation, and
operation of a parts, materials, and processes control program for use during the design,
development, and production of expendable launch vehicles (ELVs). The implementation of
these requirements is intended to:
1. Assure integrated management of the selection, application, procurement,
control, and standardization of parts, materials, and processes (PMP)
2. Improve the reliability of program PMP to reduce PMP failures at all levels of
assembly and test
3. Reduce program life cycle cost
4. Improve procurement and test of small quantities of parts and materials that meet
system requirements.
