SMC-S-006 (2008), AFSC SPACE AND MISSILE SYSTEMS CENTER STANDARD: SOLID ROCKET MOTOR CASE DESIGN AND TEST (13-JUN-2008)., This new-issue SMC standard comprises the text of The Aerospace Corporation report number TOR-2003(8583)-2895 (REV-1). This standard establishes baseline requirements for the design, fabrication, qualification and acceptance tests, and inspections of the solid rocket motor cases (SRMCs) of launch vehicles. An SRMC consists of the outer shell and the associated factory and field joints. The associated aft skirt, nose cone, and other structural components are not included. Solid propellants, insulators and other nonstructural components, such as O-rings, are also not included.
