COE UIS V4.3, COMMON OPERATING ENVIRONMENT (COE): USER INTERFACE SPECIFICATIONS (UIS) (VER 4.3) (31-DEC-2003) [SUPERSEDED BY SMC-S-023]., This SMC Compliance Standard provides contractor requirements which defines the user interface style to be delivered by software developed for the Common Operating Environment (COE) when specified on contract. The style specifications address the appearance and behavior of individual interface components and provide rules for application and window design in software with a graphical user interface (GUI) or a Web user interface. A common user interface style is essential to the overall usability of COE-based systems so that users can interact effectively with a variety of complex, multi-windowed applications within a single system. It is intended to be tailored by the SMC Wing/SPO, with SMC Chief Engineer concurrence, in a manner appropriate to each specific contract. The requirements of this standard are to be appropriately levied by the prime contractor on subcontractors, suppliers and vendors.
