AFMAN 33-120, RADIO FREQUENCY (RF) SPECTRUM MANAGEMENT (3 APR 2002)., This Air Force manual (AFMAN) implements Air Force Policy Directive (AFPD) 33-1, Command, Control,
Communications, and Computers (C4) Systems; Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 4650.1,
Management and Use of the Radio Frequency Spectrum, June 24, 1987; Department of Commerce (DoC)
National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) Manual of Regulations and Procedures
for Federal Radio Frequency Management (NTIA Manual); United States Military Communications-
Electronics Board (USMCEB) procedures; and Air Force Instruction (AFI) 33-118, Radio
Frequency Spectrum Management. It details responsibilities and provides guidance and procedures for
Air Force management of the radio frequency (RF) spectrum. It assists in system planning, tells how to
obtain frequency support for new systems, and lists detailed procedures for frequency allocations and
assignments. It applies to all Air Force activities using the RF spectrum, including Air Force Reserve
Command, Air National Guard, and Civil Air Patrol (CAP) units and members. The term "major command"
(MAJCOM), as used in this manual, includes field operating agencies (FOA) and direct reporting
units. The use of the name or mark of any specific manufacturer, commercial product, commodity, or service
in this publication does not imply endorsement by the Air Force. Refer technical questions on the
