AEROSPACE REPORT NUMBER: TOR-2013-00293, MISSION ASSURANCE PRACTICES FOR SATELLITE OPERATIONS (03-JUN-2013)., This document is intended to be used as a suggested guide in the development and implementation of
mission assurance processes designed to assure successful satellite mission operations. It is assumed
that every operations team is different and it is also assumed that each operational issue is different. Based on these assumptions this document was written with the understanding that discipline-specific
individuals must assume the various mantles of responsibility. This document does not seek to
provide direction other than to define what roles and responsibilities must be followed to provide the
best results. Specifically, this document does not necessarily advocate the need for a dedicated
mission assurance person(s) for satellite operations. Every member of the satellite operations team
must take ownership in adherence to the actionable steps described in this document. It is the
responsibility of all team members to ensure that the processes are followed if best practice lessons
learned are to be applied to future operations.
