SAE-AMS-STD-595, TIER II ADOPTION NOTICE: COLORS USED IN GOVERNMENT PROCUREMENT (14-FEB-2017) [SUPERSEDES FED-STD-595]., This document supersedes FED-STD-595C, FEDERAL STANDARD: COLORS USED IN GOVERNMENT PROCUREMENT., SAE-AMS-STD-595, “Colors Used in Government Procurement,” was adopted on February 14, 2017, for use by the Department of Defense (DoD). Proposed changes to the standard by DoD activities must be submitted to the DoD Adopting Activity at Defense Standardization Program Office, 8725 John J. Kingman Road, Stop 5100, Fort Belvoir VA 22060. To request the addition of new colors, please send a paint sample (on an acceptable substrate) to the SAE contact below. The new sample paint color will be provided to the SAE paint manufacturer. A drawdown that exactly matches the sample sent will be created. SAE will send a proof for your acceptance and, once approved, will add the color and CIELAB data to their standard. The accepted proof would be appropriately stored and used as the standard for creating product in the future.
