ANEP-77E (VER. 1), NATO STANDARD: NAVAL SHIP CODE (ED. E, VERSION 1) (JAN-2014)
ANEP-77E (VER. 1), NATO STANDARD: NAVAL SHIP CODE (ED. E, VERSION 1) (JAN-2014)., The overall aim of the Naval Ship Code is to provide a standard for naval surface ship safety based on and
benchmarked against IMO conventions and resolutions that embraces the majority of ships operated by
Navies. The Naval Ship Code (the Code) is applicable to all naval surface ships, not nuclear powered, which
insofar as the Navies wish it to apply to their own ships and vessels, includes all ships belonging to or
operated by the armed forces, coastguard or other protection and security department or agency of a
State. The Code is based on and benchmarked against IMO conventions and resolutions (see above), it
therefore contains safety related issues that correspond in scope to that which is covered by IMO
publications but which reflect the fundamental nature of naval ships. The Code does not include measures
specifically designed to address the effects of military attack.
