LPR 1710-12, POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS MATERIALS - HAZARD COMMUNICATION STANDARD. The purpose of this Langley Procedural Requirement (LPR) is to define organizational requirements, procedures for the safe use of potentially hazardous materials, and to facilitate compliance with regulations promulgated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other consensus standards that may be appropriate at LaRC. b. These procedural requirements implement the requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1200, "Hazard Communication" and 29 CFR 1910.1450, "Occupational Exposure to Hazardous Chemicals in Laboratories." It outlines the procedures to be followed to obtain and maintain information on potentially hazardous materials and the requirements for training employees on the use of this information.
