MIL-STD-6016C (NOTICE 2), DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE INTEROPERABILITY STANDARD: TACTICAL DATA LINK (TDL) LINK-16 MESSAGE STANDARD (U) (02 NOV 2006)., MIL-STD-6016C is UNCLASSIFIED and contains the tactical data link (TDL) Link-16
message standard. This link was known as TADIL J in the past, or as JTIDS or MIDS
by some. The purpose of this document is to provide a standardized set of Link-16
messages for DoD use.
As authorized by DISA-GE332 the DoD controlling office for this MIL-STD, the distribution restriction of this military standard has been lowered from "D" to "C"
(restricted to the federal government and its contractors). All allied releases of this
standard continue to require a foreign disclosure authorization. ASSIST can provide copies of MIL-STD-6016C to federal employees. Federal contractors may obtain a copy of this MIL-STD from their government POC who can
access ASSIST.
