MIL-STD-1798C, DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE STANDARD PRACTICE: MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT AND SUBSYSTEMS INTEGRITY PROGRAM (08-AUG-2013)., The purpose of this standard is to establish programmatic tasks for the development, acquisition, modification, operation, and sustainment of the mechanical elements of airborne, support, and training systems. The Mechanical Equipment and Subsystems Integrity Program (MECSIP) consists of a series of disciplined, time-phased actions which, when applied in accordance with this standard, will help ensure the continued operational safety, suitability, and effectiveness of the mechanical systems throughout all phases of the weapon system life.
