MIL-STD-1582D (NOTICE 1), DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE INTERFACE STANDARD: EXTREMELY HIGH FREQUENCY (EHF) LOW DATA RATE (LDR) SATELLITE DATA LINK STANDARDS (SDLS) UPLINKS AND DOWNLINKS (U) (26 JUL 2004)., MIL-STD-1582D contains technical standards and design objectives for use by all Military Departments and Agencies in their system design and implementation of new equipment, and for current DoD equipment undergoing modification, to interface with the common waveform for EHF LDR with the Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) platform at the 75 to 2400 bps, using the 44 GHz EHF uplink band and the 20 GHz Super High Frequency (SHF) download band. The purpose of this document is to ensure terminal-to-terminal link interoperability between LDR SDLS-compliant satellites and LDR SDLS- compliant terminals. The distribution of this military standard is restricted to DoD components. Because of this controlled distribution and the classification of the document all releases of this standard require the approval of the Preparing Activity (PA).
