Use of ARIDPCM compression is limited to legacy NITF version 1.1 files. The document will continue to be available only for reference of historical and archival functions to current users of standards that reference MIL-STD- 188-197A. New designs should use ISO/IEC 15444, entitled "JPEG 2000 Part 1: Image coding system: Core coding system."
