MIL-DTL-32502, DETAIL SPECIFICATION: COATING, COBALT-PHOSPHORUS ALLOY, NANOCRYSTALLINE (ELECTRODEPOSITED) (14-JUL-2014)
MIL-DTL-32502, DETAIL SPECIFICATION: COATING, COBALT-PHOSPHORUS ALLOY, NANOCRYSTALLINE (ELECTRODEPOSITED) (14-JUL-2014)., This specification covers an electrodeposited nanocrystalline cobalt-phosphorus
alloy on metal surfaces. It is generally applied as a protective coating to steel alloys but may be
applied to other metals such as, but not limited to, aluminum, copper, stainless steel, nickel,
cobalt and their alloys. The electrodeposited nanocrystalline cobalt-phosphorus alloy is designed
as a hexavalent chromium free plating process to provide corrosion resistance, wear resistance or
to perform dimensional restoration of damaged substrates. Wear resistance may differ from that
of engineering hard chromium.
