MIL-HDBK-304 PACKAGE DESIGNER, A COMPUTER SOFTWARE PROGRAM FOR WINDOWS (ZIP ARCHIVE)
MIL-HDBK-304 PACKAGE DESIGNER, A COMPUTER SOFTWARE PROGRAM FOR WINDOWS (ZIP ARCHIVE)., Frontier Engineering, Inc., developed the Package Designer Software system for the Air Force Packaging Technology and Engineering Facility at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB). The Package Designer is a Windows-based system intended to help determine the packaging requirements for items as described in MIL-HDBK-304. The packaging requirements include consideration of the type and amount of cushion required for safe transportation. The cushioning requirements must take into account the peak acceleration that the package might experience during transportation and the possible height from which the item may be dropped during transportation. Using the Package Designer will facilitate package preparation for safe item transport.
Package Designer" is a cushion design program which generates design information on peak
acceleration for an existing cushion pack and assists in the design for complete cushioning encapsulation of an item and corner-pad cushioning design of an item. Each of the options consider drop heights, dimensions, weight, fragility, container type, container materials, cost and
mode of transportation. Costs and output results are either displayed to the screen or to both the
screen and printer. An option is provided to make changes to the current input data and then rerun the analysis.
