8130.34A, NATIONAL POLICY: AIRWORTHINESS CERTIFICATION OF UNMANNED AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS (UAS) AND OPTIONALLY PILOTED AIRCRAFT (27-OCT-2010)., This order establishes procedures for issuing a special airworthiness certificate in the experimental category for the purposes of research and development, market survey, or crew training to unmanned aircraft systems and optionally piloted aircraft. The procedures in this order apply to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) manufacturing aviation safety inspectors (ASI) and FAA airworthiness ASIs.
