UFC 3-310-04 UNIFIED FACILITIES CRITERIA (UFC): SEISMIC DESIGN OF BUILDINGS (01-JUN-2013)

UFC 3-310-04 UNIFIED FACILITIES CRITERIA (UFC): SEISMIC DESIGN OF BUILDINGS (01-JUN-2013)., These Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) provide technical guidance for the earthquake- resistant (“seismic”) design of new buildings, and nonstructural systems and components in those buildings, for the Department of Defense (DoD), based on an adaptation of the 2012 Edition of the International Building Code (2012 IBC) and the structural standard referenced by it: ASCE 7-10 Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures. The criteria further provide limited technical guidance for seismic evaluation and strengthening of existing buildings. This information shall be used by structural engineers to develop design calculations, specifications, plans, and Design- Build Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and it shall serve as the minimum seismic design requirement for DoD buildings. Comply with UFC 1-200-01, General Building Requirements. UFC 1-200-01 provides applicability of model building codes and government unique criteria for typical design disciplines and building systems, as well as for accessibility, antiterrorism, security, high performance and sustainability requirements, and safety. Use this UFC in addition to UFC 1-200-01 and the UFCs and government criteria referenced therein.
