DOE-HDBK-1002-96, DOE HANDBOOK GUIDE TO GOOD PRACTICES FOR TRAINING AND QUALIFICATION OF CHEMICAL OPERATORS (MAR 1996)
DOE-HDBK-1002-96, DOE HANDBOOK GUIDE TO GOOD PRACTICES FOR TRAINING AND QUALIFICATION OF CHEMICAL OPERATORS (MAR 1996)., The purpose of the Guide to Good Practices for Training and Qualification of Chemical
Operators is to provide contractor training organizations with information that can be used as
a reference to refine existing chemical operator training programs, or develop new training
programs where no program exists. DOE contractors should not feel obligated to adopt all
parts of this guide. Rather, they can use the information contained in this guide to develop
programs that are applicable to their facility.
This guide, used in conjunction with facility-specific job analyses, will provide a framework for
training and qualification programs for chemical operators at DOE reactor and nonreactor
facilities. Recommendations for qualification are made in four areas: education, experience,
physical attributes, and training.
