The supplemental data augment the COTS manual to make it fully acceptable for use in a Government commercial or military equipment. This Data Item Description (DID) is applicable when COTS manuals have been evaluated in accordance with MIL-M-7298 and are basically acceptable, but supplemental data are required to make them fully acceptable.
