DI-SESS-81714, DATA ITEM DESCRIPTION: PROVISIONING SCREENING DATA (29 NOV 2006)., The provisioning screening data is used to identify existing National Stock Numbers (NSNs) for an end item against the Defense Logistics Services Center data files, validate currency of an NSN, and aid in maximum use of known assets. This Data Item Description (DID) contains the format and content preparation instructions for the data product generated by the specific and discrete task requirement as delineated in the contract and paragraph 4.4 of DS-84, Data Standard for the Preparation and Submission of Provisioning Technical Documentation.
