DI-MGMT-81502, DATA ITEM DESCRIPTION: SAMPLE CHART A AND CHART E REPORT FOR AIRCRAFT (20-NOV-1995)., Aircraft weight, balance, and inertia properties critically affect system performance. This report provides up-to-date information required to maintain cognizance of deleterious trends which may require program office action and provide safety of flight information to the field. a. The purpose of the report is to provide engineering data in the format necessary for the preparation of field weight and balance technical orders. Sample chart A and Chart E, approved by the acquiring engineering activity shall be used as the contents of the weight and balance technical orders. (1) There are two primary purposes of the Chart A: The first is to provide a definition of what is included in Basic Weight for the particular aircraft. The second is to provide weight and center of Gravity (c.g.) data to the user for items that may be removed from or added to the Basic Weight of the aircraft. Chart E provides the means for determining quickly and accurately the weight and longitudinal c.g. position of the aircraft under any loading condition.
