A-A-59810, COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION: BATTERY, NON-RECHARGEABLE, 9-VDC (LITHIUM) (13-MAR-2008)., This commercial item description (CID) covers the government acquisition requirements for a 9 VDC non-rechargeable lithium manganese dioxide battery with metal cell encasings, used to provide memory hold power for stationary communications systems and portable electronic, communication, and other military equipment. It is also used to power portable mulitmeters. The metal cell encasing serves to enhance performance in extreme environments. The battery shall meet the requirements of ANSI C18.3M Part 1, American National Standard for Portable Lithium Primary Cells and Batteries – General and Specifications for ANSI Part No. 1604LC, and the requirements stated herein.
