This Commercial Item Description covers spun, para-aramid, intermediate modulus, thread used for machine and hand sewing. The thread is intended for use in sewing aramid materials for construction of protective combat clothing and other flight safety equipment. Type I typifies normal performance thread, whereas, Type II typifies higher performance thread for use on end-items that require use of a smaller sized sewing needle.
