A-A-52428A, COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTIONS (CIDS): REFLECTOR, INDICATING, CLEARANCE (21-APR-1997) [SUPERSEDING MIL-R-12144F AND MS35837]., This CID covers a clearance indicating reflector assembly, also referred to herein as reflector, which is comprised of a red or amber reflecting element (lens), mounted in a one or two piece metal flanged housing (see figure 1). This reflector is used on vehicles to give an indication of presence to an approaching driver by reflected light from the headlamps on the approaching vehicle. Reflectors may also be used on structures or road hazards for supplementary night parking. This CID supersedes MIL-R-12144F, dated 29 October 1982, and MS35387, dated 25 May 1990. Reflectors covered by these documents are interchangeable/substitutable. This CID also replaces A-A-2129, dated February 21, 1984, which has been cancelled.
