A-A-51110A, COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION: FLASHLIGHTS, EYE EXAMINING (23-NOV-1990) [SUPERSEDING MIL-F-37768]., This Commercial Item Description covers three types of disposable, eye-examining flashlights. All three types of flashlights shall be commercially
available, diagnostic flashlights and shall be suitable for
use in performing ophthalmic procedures.
The flashlights shall be disposable, self-contained, and shall
consist of at least the following: a case fabricated of
polyvinyl chloride, two (2) size AA alkaline batteries (ANSI
designation L-40), a number 243 commercial lamp (except Type
111) with miniature screw base, an on/off switch, a pocket
clip, and any additional components necessary for the proper
functioning of the flashlight for its intended use.
At the time of delivery of the flashlights to the government,
the batteries contained in the flashlights shall be less than
six months old (from their date of manufacture) .
