ASTM D 1974/D 1974M, ADOPTION NOTICE: STANDARD PRACTICE FOR METHODS OF CLOSING, SEALING, AND REINFORCING FIBERBOARD BOXES (22-DEC-2010)., ASTM D 1974/D 1974M, “Standard Practice for Methods of Closing, Sealing, and Reinforcing Fiberboard Boxes,” was adopted on 22 December 2010 for use by the Department of Defense (DoD). Proposed changes by DoD activities must be submitted to the DoD Adopting Activity: LOGSA Packaging, Storage, and Containerization Center, ATTN: AMXLS-AT-P, 11 Hap Arnold Boulevard, Tobyhanna, PA 18466-5097. Copies of this document may be obtained from ASTM International, 100 Barr Harbor Drive, P.O. Box C700, West Conshohocken, PA 19428-2959. This practice describes several methods for closing, sealing, and reinforcing fiberboard (solid and corrugated, excluding triple wall) shipping boxes used for shipment. One or several methods listed in this practice may be referenced in regulations, specifications, or contracts.
