AMCP 706-188, ENGINEERING DESIGN HANDBOOK: MILITARY PYROTECHNICS SERIES - PART FOUR - DESIGN OF AMMUNITION FOR PYROTECHNIC EFFECTS (15-MAR-1974).,
The Engineering Design Handbook Series of the Army Materiel Command is a coordinated series of handbooks containing basic information and fundamental data useful in the design and development of Army materiel
and systems. The handbooks are authoritative reference books of practical information and quantitative facts helpful in the design and development of Army materiel so that it will meet the tactical and technical needs of the Armed Forces.
The purpose of this handbook is to provide a reference of fundamental design information for protechnic ammunition with emphasis on the terminal effects
of light, sound, heat and ballistic considerations. The forensic analyst will find it most useful when attempting to either identify recovered devices from fragments or to hypothesize regarding the identity of the probable residuals to be found in a post-blast scene when the device fragments are identifiable.
