AN840 (REV. 9) (NOTICE 3), AIR FORCE/NAVY AERONAUTICAL STANDARD: ADAPTER, STRAIGHT, PIPE-TO-HOSE (28 SEP 1999) [S/S BY SAE-AS5183]., AN840 REV 9, dated 20 March 1979, is hereby cancelled. Future acquisitions for this item should refer to Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Aerospace Standard (AS) AS5183, "Fitting, Adapter, Hose to Straight Pipe." Table 1 provides a detailed cross-reference of cancelled AN840 Part or Identifying Numbers (PINs) and replacement AS5183 PINs. The use of "AS" parts is preferable, but "AN" parts may be used for a period of three years from the date of this notice to deplete existing stock. Users are cautioned to evaluate replacements for their particular application.
