Exam content is established in the Medical Matrix for performing hazard based medical examinations and certification examinations. THIS DOCUMENT ESTABLISHES THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR MEDICAL SURVEILLANCE AND CERTIFICATION EXAMINATIONS. These requirements are based on a number of sources. They may be based on statutory regulations and instructions (as listed at the end of each examination program), standards that have been recommended by the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and accepted by the Medical Matrix Committee, or by evidence based medical research that has been evaluated and accepted by the Medical Matrix Committee.
