SAE AMS2768, ADOPTION NOTICE: HEAT TREATMENT OF MAGNESIUM ALLOY CASTINGS (18-APR-2011) [SUPERSEDING MIL-M-6875D]., This specification covers the engineering requirements for heat treatment of magnesium alloy castings and for parts machined from castings. SAE AMS 2768, \"Heat Treatment of Magnesium Alloy Castings\", was adopted on 18 April 2011 for use by the Department of Defense (DoD). Proposed changes by DoD activities must be submitted to the DoD Adopting Activity: Director, U.S. Army Research Laboratory, Weapons and Materials Research Directorate, Materials Manufacturing Technology Branch, Specifications and Standards Office, Attn: RDRL-WMM-D, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005-5069. Copies of this document are available from SAE International, 400 Commonwealth Drive, Warrendale, PA 15096-0001 or online at www.sae.org. SAE AMS 2768 should be used instead of MIL-M-6857D, Notice 2, which was cancelled on 18 April 2011.
