CORROSION PREVENTION AND CONTROL PLANNING GUIDEBOOK (SPIRAL NUMBER 2 - JULY 2004)., This document provides acquisition program managers with guidance for developing and implementing a Corrosion Prevention and Control Program for DoD weapon systems and infrastructure and with corrosion-related technical aspects that should be addressed for a viable design. This guidance is in accordance with DoD Corrosion Prevention and Control policy letter, signed by the Acting Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics (USD[AT&L]), 12 November 2003 (see Appendix A).
