Future acquisitions for this item should refer to SAE-AS1040, " Fitting, Elbow, 45 Degrees, Standard and Reducer, Bulkhead, Flared ". Reason for NOTICE 2: SAE inactivated Part or Identifying Number (PIN) with material code letter D for replacement parts and for new design to use code letter W. This is because code letter W is stronger in tensile strength than code letter D. This is based on the previous PA’s revision, as a result of lessons learned. Plus to add back material code letter S for replacement parts and for new design to use code letter R. The code letter R is better for applications requiring higher temperature. Also added size 28. Table l provides a detailed cross-reference of cancelled AN837 Rev 8 PINs and replacement SAE-AS1040 PINs.
