AN783 (REV. 10) (NOTICE 1), AIR FORCE-NAVY AERONAUTICAL STANDARD: TEE, FLARED TUBE INTERNAL THREAD ON SIDE (15 NOV 2010) [S/S BY SAE-AS1031]., AN783 Rev 10, dated 10 February 1988, is hereby canceled. Future acquisitions for this item should refer to SAE-AS1031, "Fitting, Tee, Standard and Reducer, Bulkhead on Run, Internal Port on Side, Flared". Reason for NOTICE 2: SAE inactivated Part or Identifying Number (PIN) with material code letter D for replacement parts and for new design to use code letter W. This is because code letter W is stronger in tensile strength than code letter D. This is based on the previous PA’s revision, as a result of lessons learned. Plus to add back material code letter S for replacement parts and for new design to use code letter R. The code letter R is better for applications requiring higher temperature. Table l provides a detailed cross-reference of cancelled AN783 Rev 10 PINs and replacement SAEAS1031 PINs.
